Hollywood production team members met with the Information Minister to discuss various issues

Federal
Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Ataullah Tariq, while describing the
preparation of an international film on Pakistani culture by the Hollywood production
team as happy, said that Pakistan is a country with a great cultural heritage. Our
history, literature, music and art are unique and appreciated worldwide. Film
on Pakistani culture by Hollywood production team will give the world a new
perspective to see the beauty and roots of Pakistan. Film is the only industry
in Pakistan which is tax free.
He
said this while talking to the members of the Hollywood production team. In the
meeting, there was a discussion regarding the great cultural heritage and history
of the country, including the preparation of a film based on Pakistani culture.
The
Federal Minister said that Pakistan is a country with a great cultural
heritage, our history, literature, music and art are unique in the world. We
believe that this film will give the world a new opportunity to see the beauty
of Pakistan. The Federal Minister of Information informed the Hollywood
production team about the steps taken for the film industry in Pakistan and
said that film is the only industry in Pakistan which is tax free.
Under
the leadership of Shahbaz Sharif, in the previous government, we restored the
film policy and gave the status of the film sector to the industry so that the
youth can get an opportunity in this sector.
He said that in the budget 2022 23 established a film finance fund at a cost of 1 billion rupees and provided medical insurance for artists and tax incentives for the film industry to the film industry and its affiliates. He said that in Budget 2022-23, five years of tax exemption was given to filmmakers, five years of income tax on setting up new cinemas, production houses, film museums, and 10 years of tax exemption on production of films and plays. He said that there is a huge potential for filmmaking in Pakistan and we are committed to help the industry grow further.
