CYBERCRIME WAS SEPARATED FROM FIA AND FORMED INTO A NEW AGENCY CALLED NCCIA

(Islamabad Jobs Pakistan Newspaper Latest 3 May 2024) The federal government separated cybercrime from FIA and created a new agency called NCCIA.NCCIA will look into all matters related to social media and apps across the country. There will be zonal offices and police stations across the country, exercising the powers of DG and IG.

According to media reports, the federal government has separated cybercrime from FIA and made the National Cybercrime Investigation Agency a formal ordinance to create a new authority.

MCCIA will have its own police stations and officers will be given special training on cybercrime. NCCIA will look into all cases related to social media and apps across the country. The investigative agency of the NCCIA established under section 29 of the Act shall exercise the powers vested in the NCCIA Act. Official case inquiries and investigations will be transferred from FIA to NCCIA.

DGNCCIA will exercise the powers of IG under the Police Order 2002 NCCIA affairs will be looked after by the Ministry of Home Affairs NCCIA will be the designated agency for international cooperation.
